18 new faces

Workout
7 miles. Too early in the morning for my brain to even register what I was doing
Terrible picture, but this was 40 minutes into my run once the sun started to come up.  I kinda love leaving when it's dark and watching the sun rise on my run. There is something so refreshing and energizing about starting my day this way. It really helped start my day on the right foot.

1st day of my 7th year of teaching
There is just something about the first day of school that is just as exciting as my first year of teaching. Today I met my students for the first day of school. It was exhausting but awesome. The most awesome part is that I currently only have 18 kiddos, I typically have 25-28.  Why am I so excited? Less kids= more 1:1 time, more fun activities, greater ability to meet with students more often, and a closer community. Also, I'll be honest, less grading, fewer report cards, fewer files, etc. I am knocking on wood as we speak. The likely hood of my class staying so small is not likely, but we shall see. Last year I started at 21 and ended at 25. I love seeing the progress the students make in just 9 months. I have a feeling it is going to be a great year!

I packed a lot of snacks today, and I ate every last one of them. Running in the morning makes me so hungry all day.

What I packed
Apple
Peach
Kashi almond granola bar
Carrots
Watermelon
Cottage cheese

For breakfast
I had a protein smoothie with 1.5 frozen bananas, a handful of blueberries, spinach, almond milk and 1 scoop of protein powder

For lunch
A southwest chicken salad

For dinner
Grilled mushroom Swiss sausage, roasted cauliflower, and roasted sweet potatoes.
I love roasted veggies!!

For dessert
Wendy's frosty

After dinner we went to get Chris' ring, and now I am ringless.
It'll be back in 2 weeks. I am getting it replated.

I hope you had a great Wednesday!!
