About Me

Hi! Welcome to RUNivation.  My name is a Allysia and I really love to run.   I am a mother, wife, runner, and teacher.  I am starting this blog to keep me accountable for my training and possibly motivate others to get out for a run.  See the page " Why Runivation" to learn what blogging means to me.

I have always run to just run.  Recently my husband offered to coach me and I am hopeful with his help and the blog I will reach some new PRs.

I live in Illinois and my husband is a high school special education teacher.  He is also the head boys and girls cross country coach and the distance track coach.  He is a pretty amazing coach and has earned the "Illinois Cross Country Girls' 2A Coach of the Year" for 4 years in a row.  He has some amazing athletes.  I will be sure to write about the team's progress throughout the seasons.  He also is a great teacher.  He has earned "Most Influential Educator Award" the past 5 years.

On June 17, 2011 we were so blessed with the most precious little boy.  Cole is so full of life and makes everyday 100 times better.

My running story. (The brief version.  See the page "Why runivation" for the indepth version)

I used to despise running and quit several times through high school.  It wasn't until college/ my first teaching job that I really became passionate about it.  I ran my first marathon in 2009 and qualified for Boston; much to my suprise. I was hooked.  After running 3 marathons and over 10 half marathons I am ready to focus on not just "running" but pace, speed, and getting faster.  I am chasing some new PRs:)

I hope that you enjoy what you read:)
